So much for the 2011 WHPSC

I found a place that had a hydraulic tube bender with 2-inch dies. We tried bending the chromoly, but it kinked even worse than when I tried rolling it.

I finally realized what everyone else already knew - there's no way I'll be able to finish my streamliner in time for the 2011 WHPSC. Nothing left to do but binge on cereal...

Bending thin chromoly tubing

The streamliner subframe was designed with curved pieces of 2-inch diameter by .049 wall 4130 chromoly tubing.

I picked up a tube bending roller from Harbor Freight, and started rolling...

Notice the tubing is beginning to bend in the dies.
