My friend Pat, A.K.A. "Mountain Amen" recommended this setup for our TIG welder...
We also picked up some ceriated tungsten electrodes. Can't wait to try the new setup.

Getting ready to sculpt the body for the streamliner. But first we need a cart to roll the tooling plug around on. A little scrounging around, and we found some pieces of 2 x 3 x .188 box tubing in the scrap pile...

Hmm... how to disassemble the cassette guts...
Make a cassette gut spanner wrench, of course!
I disassembled the cassette guts, which spun on 52 ball bearings, 26 per side. I removed and discarded the ratchet pawls, and drilled a small hole for a grease port. Then, using sticky assembly grease, I carefully reassembled all 52 ball bearings. A shot of grease, and the thing turns either direction smooth as silk. This will be the business end of the jackshaft support.
